Functions
Environmental Management Tasks
Every aspect of the environment is managed thematically. Each area can thus be improved, have its own plan of action and registry of applicable laws and regulations.
Data entry
Environmental data (such as measures, samples and statistics) are captured within a data input module. These can be entirely adapted to individual requirements. Data can also be input from external systems.
Indicator Management
Indicators are generated via formulae that users can create independantly. The simplified user interface allows the selection of variables and the operators to apply, in order to generate a formula. The scheduler allows to re-calculate the indicators on a pre-defined basis.
Reporting
A wizard guides users through the various steps in report creation, giving options in terms of which data and indicators to represent. Outputs are viewed in table formats or translated into graphs. Data export is available, including Excel and PDF.
Scheduler
Deadlines and scheduled activities can be managed within the system. Every user, in addition to her/his own activities and deadlines, can assign and monitor activities to other users. The scheduler manages all communications within the system. As deadlines approach, system users can be forewarned via eMail and SMS.
Document Management
EMS integrates archiving and validation activities proper to Environmental Management requirements. Each document is registered in pre-defined sections and validated by enabled users. Managing a document's status and its updates is one of the salient features of this module.
Management and Workflows
Workflows, activities and document management are fundamental to quality improvement and any certification process. Base functions include standard approval cycles and corrective action requests.
Legal Requirements
Simple and quick access to legal information for every environmental area. In addition to the identification of documentation, behaviours and responsibilities, the module usefully identifies users' training requirements.
Managerial Analysis
A module that summarises the location of relevant documents, data and indicators, in order to provide an immediate snapshot of the environmental situation and the degree of progress towards pre-established goals. Leading naturally to the establishment of new organisational targets.
